Departure Day. Up early. Around 5:15am plus a few snoozes. Tighten down the luggage just in time. Chad picks me up around 5:45am. Off to the airport. We are tired but looking forward to starting another 'adventure' of dominating trails out west, meeting interesting people and avoiding bear attacks. I am a little nervous for flying as I have found myself in recent months glued to any news about air disasters. I have become pretty good at ignoring everyone's opinion that the 'probability' of anything happening is remote by firing back; 'well everyone on any flight that crashed probably had friends saying the same thing'. Ho hum. Enough of that. Flights were fine, no problems and not much turbulence flying into Colorado Springs which historically has very bumpy landings. My big sister, Alethea, picks us up at the airport with 9 month old daughter, Zoey, in tow, perhaps the cutest baby on the planet. I'm not just saying that, a quick poll was done and its official.
We had shipped our bikes to Alethea's house just over a week prior and started to unwrap them and reassembled them which took about an hour. Got some good eats and settled in for some rest that night.
